| Adding Reservations|
As a hostel admin or employee, there are three ways to add a new reservation:
Hostel admins and employees may find that the Calendar is a quick and easy way to find available beds and to make reservations. The Calendar can be found under the hostels menu.
More details about the Calendar can be found on the Calendar documentation page. However, admins and employees can browse by date and select available items to reserve.
One important thing to note is that reserving a bed this way does not require admins or employees to first put the bed into a shopping cart and then proceed to checkout. This provides a 'quick check-out' process but also means that only one bed can be booked or reserved at a time. Find an available bed and click 'Book Now'.
On the next page, enter in the number of nights that you want to reserve and click the 'Check Availability' button. If the bed has a conflict for the selected options, it will show a list of conflicts.
If there are no conflicts after checking the bed's availability, the page will ask for some customer information such as:
A summary of the order will be shown including the bed being reserved. Enter in customer information such as:
There is also an order summary section which shows the type of bed being purchased, taxes, fees, and the order total. When you are ready to complete the order, click the 'Place Order' button.
The order will be placed and a success page will be displayed with order details such as the order number and the reservation number.
Search Available Beds
This advanced search page is a good way to search for specific criteria or to reserve multiple bed at once. Search Available Beds can be accessed by clicking on 'Search Available Beds' from the hostel's menu.
The Search Available Beds page provides advanced search capabilities to find available beds.
Search options include:
If a bed isn't available, a red x will appear that says 'Check Availability'. Hover over the x to get details as to why the bed is not available. Hostel admins and employees will be shown additional information such as the reservation number that has the bed reserved. Admins and employees can click on the reservation number to view reservation details.
Anyone can click on the 'Check Availability' link which will take the user to the related bed page. In the availability section, users can use the calendar to view a beds availability. A padlock means that the date is out of season. A red x means that the bed has already been reserved for that date. This view is great for identifying open blocks of time that the bed is available from a calendar perspective.
A green checkmark means that the bed is available for that date. Clicking on a green checkmark will take the user to the 'Search Available Beds' page (described above).
Once an available bed has been selected and the 'Select' button has been clicked from the search results, the next page will ask for some customer information. When finished, click the 'Add to Cart' button.
A success page will show that the bed has been added to the shopping cart.
When you are finished adding beds to your shopping cart and want to checkout, click on 'Cart' from the top menu to view your shopping cart.
Beds can be removed from your cart here. If all looks good, click on the 'Proceed to Checkout' button. Review your order and enter in customer information. When finished, click on the 'Place Order' button.
The order will be placed and a success page will be shown with details of the order including the order number and reservation numbers for each bed reserved.
The 'Reservations Search' area can be found on Hostel, Group, and Bed pages if the reservation system has been enabled for the hostel.
Enter a date and number of nights. Click the Search button. This will take users to the 'Search Available Beds' page (described above).
